Fairy tales as a baby girl

Disney princess, story book life

Big house, white fence, 10 kids a mix, 2 dogs both fixed, our horses don’t kick and somebody’s wife

He is tall dark and handsome loves God, hand over heart singing the anthem, brings home the bacon, never flexin or fakin 

Loves me and he’s patient, best Daddy no mistakin, slow dancing in the kitchen while his dinner I be making 

He’s a perfect 10 like I am Barbie and he is Ken

Cut from the same cloth that we were wrapped in God breathed life in me after his rib was in

Made to be I was made from him

A perfect love, I’d be so in love always a smile on our faces and butterflies within 

Storybook love, storybook life, so in love

But love looked different for me, it looked different on me

It’d be like soul deep wounds, skin weeps battered, bandaged and bruised, ruminating thoughts, tongues lie and mind consumed with where he’s at who he’s with I don’t trust you oh yeah that’s it

It’d be like hyper vigilant when a man’s round my kids, mother bear, is his touch in vain, his eyes go too low- they can’t feel my same pain! 

Soul wounds, pay the toll soon, nightmares and day terrors of the touches and sights of my childhood days and nights

Shame laced love too scared to fight dragged out the house by my hair no wedding ring but rings round my neck oh it’s an every day fight phone snatched fist back I see a flash

Love wounds

Love wounded and I stayed for our safety I would pray while my baby boy sat in the distance and looked his Mami’s way- this isn’t the fairytale love that y’all fed me back in the day!

But love found me

Love found me while being abused, abandoned, manipulated, devastated, self mutilating, bowing to every throne and lap that wasn’t His, 2 baby daddy’s and 3 hurting kids because I was one 2

Love found me homeless and in transition, bankrupt emotionally and money coming up missing, love found me chasing men that hurt me but their feet I was kissing, love found me rocking in my chair and reminiscing 

Love found me when my feet were failing and my health was fading

Oh but love found me dancing in the rain too, twirling and swirling my hips as I sang 

Standing up for the weak ones because we’re one in the same

Writing books and dropping mics standing on stages never seeking

Poster child of what it takes to overcome my life was steady preaching

Love found me from the beginning cuz I was in Him and His hem mends me, He’s in me- intimacy 

Love loved me first that’s real and the truth is He never lost me- I lost sight of Him through all the pain, shame and pride I was in. I lost Him!

So this time that He rescued me from the pit, wrapped His hand around my heart and restored every part of it and sealed it with agape I knew no more games I’d play with Him, His house or this temple- it’s actually very quite simple because He saved me! Again!

Joy back, hands clap and praise Him

Now I’m sowin love cuz I’m so in love my life I want displays Him
