Hola Mi Amor!

Como estas my love? So it’s been a couple of weeks since I posted, but not because I didn’t want to. I have been doing a lot of writing, praying, introspection and interoception. Much of what I have written for now is just between me and God. So with that being said, today I am sharing some things with you that will start out by seeming pretty strange, yet once you continue to journey through this post with me I promise it will bless you in one way or another.

Alright, alright, alright… So there are very very few people (until now I guess) that know that I can get a “message” out of almost anything! When I tell you after this one dropped plus a second part I was like Lord people are going to think I lost it a little bit LOL! Either way it goes I’m still going to share it, so enjoy!

This entire last quarter and some has been a completely different experience in my current home than the year prior. When I first moved in I was always in prayer about the gun violence and safety of my neighborhood. Recently the bulk of my prayers have been for a different type of peace and stability- this time I’m regularly and fervently praying for all of the traffic next door to me due to the squatters and all of their “guests” throughout the day and night. (See my previous post and the poem about the unhoused.)

With the combination of these happenings from my neighbors, the complete lack of consistency from the city of St. Louis’ Refuse department (Trash) and other numerous departments and leaders that we’ve elected to bring solutions to both the unhoused and the conditions of our city- last week I had 3 (THREE) run-ins with mice in my home?!! Man was I furious, frightened and finally at a point when I said “enough is enough!” First I haven’t been able to sleep well for months because of the squatters and those seeking shelter and now I’m afraid of walking around in my own home?!

Mind you, I’m a country girl and when I told my Daddy he says to me,

“How are you gonna be scared of a little mouse? You were the one touching the deer’s eyeball and cleaning deer with me.”

I had to laugh and told him, “But Daddy the deer was already dead! This mouse is over here squirming for dear life and screaming every five seconds.” The next thing he shared with me just NOW hit so different and gave me further revelation, praise God! He said, “take something and press his head down onto the (glue) trap. And leave it there so that if there are others they will see what happened to him.” I literally grabbed my daughter’s javelin pole, which you know is like 9 feet long, but I couldn’t do it! I just could not fathom smashing that little head and both hearing and feeling the impact of that action.

Okay before I go ANY further I am going to share this link with you to watch this past Sunday’s sermon from my Pastor, Rahson R. Jordan. The title of his message was “I Killed What The Lord Conquered!” from our More Than Conquerors series. Believe me, you’ll want to watch this a few times to keep eating from it! It is SO fire!!!!

The mouse kept screaming for hours!!! While on the phone with my mentor Dr. Kimm I spoke without really thinking and asked, “Man, why is it still screaming? And now it’s like 5 minutes between each scream.” She said to not think about that answer and apologized again that I was going through this… Later as I was hyper vigilantly moving through my hallway and feeling squeamish listening to the sounds of this creature’s cries- this dropped in my spirit about “How do you think that God feels as He watches us in our suffering and as we endure the pain to die to self daily? Don’t you know He always hears your cries?” This changed my heart posture toward the mouse and interestingly enough reminded me of God’s loving-kindness toward me.

The next morning each time I had to walk by the corner of the hall where the mouse finally lay glued to the trap I would (I can laugh about it now LOL) turn on all of the lights and not look as I nearly ran past it. This was our first Sunday having 2 services at The Advancing Church! I was so very grateful that my Pastor was back in the pulpit and came with the HEAT! Even hearing the sermon back to back, I still had different things resonate with me each service. Another great gift that provided me further understanding was the fact that I have been watching the House of David series on Prime! OMG! It’s Thursday! Season 1, Episode 8 drops today!!!!! LOL Don’t mind me, I’m just a tad bit excited!

45 Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head. And I will give the dead bodies of the host of the Philistines this day to the birds of the air and to the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, 47 and that all this assembly may know that the Lord saves not with the sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s and He will give you into our hand.” | 1 Samuel 17:45-47

1 Samuel 17:46 was the foundational passage used for this message. David had the anointing upon him which as he fully leaned into, God gave him what I like to call “Godfidence.” That’s how he could give Goliath the complete rundown or preview of coming attractions with an audacious and unwavering faith! There was no question in David’s mind that Holy Spirit wouldn’t accomplish through him exactly what God said he would as long as David stayed under the anointing!

My God! This had me on fire and ready to spit the TRUTH straight at the devil and all of his minions. Honestly, I felt it during the 11:00 service. Upon coming home as I walked through my front door I knew there had been a significant change within me. As I walked toward the kitchen for a few grocery bags I turned to my left and for the first time that day, I looked down at the dead mouse. I used one bag as a “glove” to toss the trap into another bag and oh, but not before taking a picture of the evidence.

I thought, how many of these “giants” in our midst are not even 1/10th of our size, but have us running away from it like we are not children of the Most High God? How do we become blind to the trail of giants behind us that we have already defeated in the past- by the grace of God? Why don’t we focus on simply staying under the anointing that God has given us individually and being obedient to His will as we walk by faith daily and speak to the giants in our lives through the authority already given to us? How could we ever forget whose we are and not continually kill all that God has already conquered in our lives?! If you don’t know, now ya know!

It’s not the size of the giant nor what he has been trained to do. What matters is the oil upon your life! All dead things must go! So are you ready to start slaying these giants in your life like never before?! Yo, and like the buffalo, now you won’t catch me running away from the storm. I’m running toward the storm and speaking to it with my God-given authority!

Get ready to have a brand new type of body count in your life. This is the season that you step into the FULLNESS of all that God has for you- On Purpose and in His perfect timing, Will, Word and Way, in Jesus’ mighty and matchless name! Amen & Amen!!!

Oh, and our Dance Ministry danced on Sunday as well! Click here to watch.

Have the most blessed day- On Purpose and take that giant down like David did without even breaking a sweat!

Love & Blessings,

Jana M. Gamble
