Hola Mi Amor!

Hola Mi Amor,

As some say, happy hump day! Wednesday is one of my favorite days of the week because it’s time for a right now Word through bible study tonight! I’m also extremely grateful that through my communion with God- I don’t have to wait for Wednesday nights! Through our “Culture of Inquiry” I am ringing God’s line all day LOL! So let me go ahead and jump into this poem that’s bubbling up on the inside of me… Buckle up cowboy, cuz this may be a rough ride! 😂

It’s Your Move Mi Amor

We have grown up in a culture that has taught us it’s definitions of love

Without a father figure to imitate in the home, most of our young men have been guided by entertainers, athletes and rappers leading to relational catastrophes

No shade, this ain’t spades we can all get it. Girls like me trailed behind females on the big screen like video vixens, gold diggers and the façade that if you didn’t let it all hang out how would they know what they’re missing? Then later if you didn’t drop a couple of grand to enhance your curves what are you even worth?!

So imagine having access to the real playbook all along and the game is free! Well that’s easier said than done, a life (Jesus’) was given for you and for me!

Who knew that the treasure this Goonie was searching for all along was in my reflection the whole time. The years I spent running from myself instead of learning who I was in Christ weren’t a total loss- because when I crashed into Him with all of me, He began reclaiming my time.

I’ve always known deep down inside of me that I am a good thing, I am someone’s person that God created- On Purpose for him and he for me

Now in my wholeness and security knowing who I am in Him I know who I will be for him. I am enough because of Christ and my identity in His reflection

Like a foggy mirror after a hot shower, long ago I could see a glimpse of a reflection I didn’t recognize, but as I purposely commit to communing with Him I see more and more of Him in my mirror and we’re looking more alike each day in such a special way

So after years of trying to force men that weren’t ready or daily dealing with their petty, thanks to God’s Word I know the kind of man that He has kept for me…

For me, mi amor, I will know you by your love, a love that leads with grace, compassion, diligence and strength. A love that will lay down his life for mine as Christ did for His bride the Church

A mighty man of valor, honor and respect that without God’s Word in his heart- never would he neglect. He’s a committed, kind, peaceful man of his word. He’s trustworthy and intelligent with the joy of the Lord.

He lives to worship the one true King. He will dance like David with all of his strength because anything less couldn’t touch the praise our God deserves. My hands he holds and my heart he preserves. There’s nothing like our time together in the Living Word!

God’s character is what he possesses and every morning as he gets dressed- it’s the full armor he puts on before his feet hit the floor, because when they do everything wants on him. He’s complete all on his own and we’re a force when we’re together fulfilling what God has called us to in both ministry and the marketplace. The anointing on our lives is undeniably at work in, with and through us.

He is patient, he is kind. We take the time to listen to one another and with God as the third cord in our union there is nothing He can’t bring us through.

Mi amor, it’s always been you. Throughout our lives, lessons and lost love- God always knew that for me it had to be you.

Not until I learned to be soft and fully embracing who God created me to be through my healing journey and for you to fight your own internal battles and to shake off the mentalities that the world generously gave you would it be time for the two of us to become one.

No man, or woman, no stars or the sun can block what God has ordained to become on this side of heaven nor can it be undone.

To you alone will I lovingly serve as unto the Lord. It’s your feet that I will drown with my tears and wipe with my hair because you are my covering. It’s from your threshing floor that I will glean and ask you to cover me at the end of you. It’s your lead that I will follow because I know that Holy Spirit guides your steps…

It’s for you that I should leave my father and mother and prioritize our God-given love. No one before you and no one above the covenant but God that we will sustain. In your arms I will always remain- on good days and challenging ones, through sickness and health, from the rising of the sun and the going down of the same as we bless the name of Jesus the Christ with reverential excellence beyond what we ever knew before our flame of love was ignited. For our love I am so excited because this new beginning is never ending and laced with love- that agape surrendering love.

And until then …with Him I shall remain.
